VPC + Lioco Wine Dinner
Wine & Spirits magazine named Lioco the 2009 Artisan Winery of the Year and local wine lovers had the opportunity to experience these great California wines at VPC on Saturday, May 1.
Not only did Ericka and Heather be creating a delicious five-course dinner to showcase these spectacular wines, but Matt Licklider, one of the masterminds behind this cutting edge winery, was on hand to talk wine and enjoy the evening.
Lioco is the combined vision of Matt Licklider and Kevin O'Connor, two industry professionals who set out to prove that California could produce a true "wine of origin.” Lioco does not own any vineyards, or a winery. All of their resources are directed toward the sourcing of grapes from California’s premier vineyards, and then making the wine in a state-of-the-art cooperative in Santa Rosa. Lioco produces a range of wines, from multiple grape varieties growing in several distinct appellations (Chardonnay in Sonoma; Pinot Noir in Chalone; Carignan in Mendocino), thus creating a “wine of origin.” To learn more, visit www.liocowine.com.
